Doug Murray is a partner with Taylor Oballa Murray Leyland LLP, practicing in the areas of film, television, new media and music law, including copyright and trademark infringement matters.
Doug acts for a wide variety of film, TV and new media producers, lenders, investors, artists, writers, directors, actors, photographers and copyright owners. Doug has extensive experience as production legal counsel, including handling rights acquisitions, co-pro agreements, broadcast and licensing deals, performer agreements, financing, tax credits, E&O insurance reviews and distribution agreements for a long list of TV series and feature films.
Doug began his legal career as a civil and criminal trial lawyer in Toronto and still gets into the courtroom acting for plaintiffs whose copyright or trademarks have been infringed.
